How did you become a Christian?
I was a passionate atheist who believed (a) God didn’t exist and therefore (b) Christians were idiots, or at least weak. In late high school I was challenged to investigate the basis for my rejection of religion. So I started with Jesus, and the historical evidence for his resurrection. Against all my hopes and plans, I found Jesus completely compelling, and the rational basis for believing in his claims – that he rose back from death to life and was seen my many different witnesses at different times, which was recorded by different people – very convincing. Jesus was who he said he was: King of everything. So I decided to follow him.

Favourite verse
Currently: ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’ (from the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 19, verse 26)

Why join Credo?
To experience the incomparable abundance of God’s love, and a community like no other; to hear God’s word, and be transformed; to be challenged to live a radical life in a world of mindless banality.

Best thing about Credo?
Walking alongside people who have been captured by the love of God, just as you have.

If you were a superhero, who would you be?
If? But seriously, any one which could fly. Example Antman – there’s something tragic about being a superhero and really, really short.

What is your favourite food?
An Indian banquet.

What is your favourite band?
No such thing. Currently on rotation: Whitlams; David Bowie; Tenacious D; The Offspring; Keith Jarratt; Newsboys; Cheap Trick; Ben Lee; John Butler Trio; John Lee Hooker; Metallica; Fine Young Cannibals; Bob Dylan; Midnight Oil; U2; R.E.M. The common element? Beats me, except it probably means that I’m older than you

What is the grossest thing you have ever eaten?
Cheap, re-heated lasagna at 5am in the morning before a 6-hour bus trip. Interior re-decoration, anyone?
