How did you become a Christian?
I am blessed to have been raised by loving and prayerful parents who have always emphasised sound Christian ethics and regular Church attendance throughout my upbringing. However, it wasn’t until my teenage years that I started to question the significance of the family’s conventions and weekly habit. I began to realise the reality of humanity’s collective shortcomings and the thoroughly convincing claims of Jesus’ death and resurrection. But no amount of rationalisation could help me comprehend the epic extent of God's loving sacrifice. I felt I had no choice but to truly surrender my life to the Lord; a process that is admittedly still in the making.
Favourite verse
And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man (Genesis 27:11)
Why join Credo?
In a world full of obstacles, distractions and societal dysfunction it helps to set you on track spiritually. It’s also the ideal place to bring your non-Christian uni friends!
Best thing about Credo?
Being able to hang out with and tap into an extensive network of Chalk-and-Cheese-type-people who come from all walks of life yet are powerfully banded together by the everlasting Body of Christ.
If you were a superhero, who would you be?
Not too many superheroes can feed 5,000 men (cf. Matthew 14) or bring a dead person back to life (cf. John 11).
That said I would gladly settle for Larryboy of VeggieTales fame, whose powers include Super-Suction Ears [read: sink plungers! haha!]
What is your favourite food?
Fruit
What is your favourite band?
The one that hits the spot at any given moment! Some faves include Relient K, Toby Mac, Jars of Clay, Third Day, Newsboys, Revive, Crying Out Loud, The Cat Empire, Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Louis Armstrong and Frédéric Chopin [not an exhaustive list!]
What is the grossest thing you have ever eaten?
Animal organs and cooked spinach. Though here's a tip I’ve recently discovered for all you spinach-haters out there: spinach actually makes a great salad when eaten fresh!
